About Us

LIFE IS BREWTIFUL

How it all started

Since we opened in April 2022, The Village Taphouse has poured more unique Canadian Atlantic Coast craft beers than anywhere else—and we’re just getting started! Serving craft beer plus region cider, wine and spirits.

Born from the challenges of the COVID-19 era, The Village Taphouse opened its doors on April 1, 2022, with a mission to heal and reunite our community. What started as a heartfelt gathering spot quickly evolved into Atlantic Canada’s largest craft-beer hub. Today, we feature 36 rotating taps pouring the finest local brews, alongside high-quality cocktails—like our signature maple-smoked Canadian Old Fashioned—and an unrivalled selection of rare whiskies.

But we’re more than just a bar. The Village Taphouse pulses with entertainment every week: live music from the region’s hottest acts, stand-up comedy specials, and spirited rounds of karaoke, Music Bingo, and trivia. With tasting events for beer, wine, and whisky, each visit is an opportunity to learn something new, laugh with friends, and immerse yourself in Maritime craft culture.

As proud ambassadors of Nova Scotia’s craft-beverage scene, we champion local breweries, cideries, vineyards, and distilleries. Our venue serves as a community pillar—welcoming all in a safe, friendly, and wheelchair-accessible space. Whether you’re here for a private fundraiser or just to unwind, the vibrant spirit of Nova Scotia comes alive at The Village Taphouse.
